Dimensions: 8.0 x 7.0 x 2.4mm (2.9mm for capacitor)
The LokPilot 5 micro is the smallest digital decoder from ESU so far. Thanks to the use of subminiature components, 8-layer printed circuit boards and state-of-the-art manufacturing technology, it is so small with only 8.0mm x 7.0mm and a thickness of only 2.4mm (at the capacitor: 2.9mm) that it can be accommodated even in very small locomotives of nominal sizes Z, N or TT. Nevertheless, functionality and robustness have not been spared compared to the larger versions.
LokPilot 5 micro decoders are offered with all common interfaces. The versions with Next18 or PluX16 interface are somewhat larger with a footprint of 13.0mm x 9.2mm, but additionally speak the mfx®-compatible M4 protocol.
The LokPilot 5 micro is a true multi-protocol decoder. It masters the data format DCC as well as Motorola®, Selectrix® and M4. In DCC format, 14 to 128 speed steps are as natural as 2- and 4-digit addresses and up to 32 functions. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders register fully automatically with a suitable digital command station.
It masters all DCC programming modes and thanks to RailCom® the CV values on the main track can be read out with suitable command stations. Auxiliary registers exist for command stations that can only program CVs from 1-255.
Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed steps with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses allow the triggering of 16 functions. A built-in programming mode makes reprogramming possible even with the venerable Control Unit 6021.
The Next18 and PluX16 versions also allow automatic registration with mfx®-compatible command stations thanks to the M4 protocol. All 32 possible function keys are offered here.
The LokPilot 5 micro decoder recognises Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with DC voltage is also possible. Furthermore, it also stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. An ABC shuttle train automatic allows automatic shuttling between two stations.
The LokPilot 5 decoder can be used on analogue DC railways. The versions with Next18 or PluX16 can additionally be used on analogue AC layouts. The maximum speed can be set separately.
The decoder switches between the operating modes fully automatically "on-the-fly". Mostly nothing has to be set.
We know that you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. Therefore, we have equipped the LokPilot 5 micro with an astonishing number of function outputs. The versions with 6-pin or 8-pin wiring harness offer 4 amplified function outputs with 180mA output current each, as well as two logic level outputs for servos or Susi. The versions with Next18 or PluX16 interface have a total of 6 amplified outputs and two logic level outputs. All important light functions are available. The brightness of each output can be adjusted separately. The decoder masters the automatic pressing on and off during uncoupling for ROCO®, Krois® and Telex® couplers.
The motor control of the LokPilot 5 micro has again been fundamentally improved. A variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10kHz to 50kHz ensures super-quiet operation especially with bell armature motors - the typical "humming" is a thing of the past. The load control can now be adapted to difficult cases with up to 10 CVs. The unique "Autotune" function allows automatic tuning of the decoder to the motor. With up to 0.75A motor current, the LokPilot 5 micro decoder provides enough juice for the intended application scenarios.
If desired, a PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 micro for bridging dirty track sections.
Of course, the motor output and the function outputs are protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
